The ZZ plant is an easy to grow and care for indoor plant that displays small glossy leaves on stems which can grow up to 3 ft long indoors. According to NASA ZZ plant is an excellent air purifier plant.

ZZ plant is a evergreen plant that survive drought due to the large potato-like rhizome that stores water in it. ZZ plant is wonderfully tolerant to a wide range of conditions, including low light, low humidity, and periods of drought. That means it will survive just about any corner of your home, even if you only water it once every couple of weeks.
Like most other plants, ZZ plant doesn't even need natural light it will thrive just fine indoors under fluorescent lights, such as in office buildings.

Planting and care

  • ZZ plant is propagate by leaf cuttings.
  • Take a leaf cutting with a small segment of branch and place it in a pot with moist gritty compost.
  • The pot should be enclosed in a polythene bag.
  • Though the leaves may well decay, succulent bulb-like structures will form in the compost.
  • Pot these newly formed bulb-like structure to produce new plant.
  • The process may take upwards of one year.
